In a perfect world, your new custom rod would perform flawlessly and be indestructible forever. In reality, damage from normal wear and tear and/or accidents may occur to the extent that repair or replacement becomes necessary. As a custom rod builder, I have the expertise and experience to assess what is repairable and what is not. I will always provide you with an accurate quote for the costs of repair or replacement. In the event that unexpected issues arise during the repair process, I will always inform you of additional costs before continuing. Almost anything can be repaired, but in rare circumstances replacement is the only option. I keep extremely detailed documentation about the construction of the rod during the building process. Every single aspect of the rod can be duplicated if a rod is lost or destroyed, right down to the thread colors and designs.
The rod owner will be responsible for the shipping and insurance costs to and from the shop. For this reason, I strongly suggest you keep the shipping tube the rod came in when purchased. They become valuable if and when the rod needs repair work. If you no longer have the rod tube, please package the rod in an appropriate container to avoid any additional damage from shipping.
Contact Shep's Custom Rods with any and all questions concerning repair or replacement issues. I will provide you with credible answers. If I am unable to answer your question immediately, I will find an answer through my considerable resources. Rod builders in general, are an amiable group and usually share information with each other willingly.
