Obviously, as a builder of custom fishing rods I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Each custom rod I buildcarries a lifetime warranty against failure due to faulty workmanship by myself or the component manufacturer under normal fishing conditions. Many blanks are covered by a manufacturer's warranty and any applicable fees from the manufacturer will be the responsibility of the rod owner. I am fully aware that accidents do happen. If you happen to damage your custom rod by means other than normal fishing conditions, I will make every effort to repair or replace your rod as economically as possible.
Included with each and every rod I build is an owner's manual. This is simply a list of common sense reminders on the care and maintenance of your new custom fishing rod. I am thoroughly convinced that all of us, no matter what level of expertise or experience benefit from some reminding every so often. Sometimes, little things make a difference. Examples of some of the tips included are:
Always wipe your custom rod down with a soft dry cloth before storing.
Never store a your custom rod in a wet rod bag inside an airtight rod case.
Refrain from "high-sticking" your rod during hook set, and especially during landing.
Check the condition of your rod frequently so that minor dings and scratches can be repaired before they become major issues or rebuilds.
Chances are your custom rod has a hook keeper- use it. Your handle, regardless of its material, will eventually be damaged if used as a hook keeper.
If your rod has multiple sections, learn the proper way to connect them. There actually is a correct way to do it, and it does make a difference in how well the sections stay together.
